Resources & Contact
Welcome! The Southwest Spokane County Historical Society shares the history of the Four Lakes, Marshall, Cheney, Tyler, and Amber districts of eastern Washington. You will find history stories, research resources, and information about visiting us at the Cheney Historical Museum.
Research Resources
Our archives hold a variety of materials to help you with family history or research on places and events in our area, including:
- Images, maps, and collection objects
- People files containing obituaries, news clippings, other documents, as well as donated family biographies.
- Phone books, business directories, and news clippings.
- Public school and college yearbooks
- Jerue Funeral Home records (includes Medical Lake)
- Records and membership data from lodges, clubs, and organizations.
- Our online exhibit Unknown Faces may contain members of your family waiting to be recognized.
We are happy to help you with your inquiries. The first 20 minutes of research are free, though donations are gratefully accepted. For more extensive research we will provide you with an estimate of time and charges.
