  1. I’m trying to find out how salnave elementary school got it’s name. Some think it came from the fact that it’s located on salnave rd and others think that there was a family by the last name of salnave that gave the school its name. Can you help me with this?

    1. Salnave Elementary is located on Salnave Road, that is the simple answer. Salnave comes from a very early settler Abram Salnave who had a farm out that road. The children attended the Cheney Academy in the 1880s. The family left the area in the 1890s, but by then the name had stuck to the road.
